Gyeonggi Shooting Theme Park: Real Pistol Shooting Near Seoul, Prices & How It Works
October 14, 2026 | by Korea Bestie
The Gyeonggi Shooting Theme Park (경기도사격테마파크) in Hwaseong is one of the few places near Seoul where visitors can fire real pistols and shotguns at a proper public range. It’s cheap, too. We went on October 10, 2026, and shot pistols. Here’s how it works, what it costs and what to expect.
Last checked: October 2026. Prices, daily caps and closures can change. Call or check the official site before you go. Dollar figures use about 1,380 KRW = 1 USD (October 2026).

We went ourselves: Friday, October 10, 2026, late afternoon. Pistol, live fire. Our verdict: worth it if you’re in Gyeonggi-do, and the price is low.

How it works
- Register and pay at the front desk. Bring ID: foreign visitors can use a passport or Korean residence card (Alien Registration Card). Live-fire ranges check identity.
- Take a queue ticket. Ours was printed for pistol (권총) and showed how many people were waiting ahead. On our late-afternoon visit there were only four.
- Safety briefing: staff show you how to hold the pistol and give range commands. It’s in Korean, but the instructions are mostly hand signals and demonstration.
- Shoot, then take your paper target home as a souvenir.
The number of live-fire shooters per day has been capped in recent years because of ammunition supply. Weekends fill up faster, so arrive early or call ahead.
Tips from our visit
- Arrive at least an hour before closing. The queue system means you may wait.
- The range is deep in the countryside. Drive or take a taxi. Public transport is very limited.
- Air rifle and screen or VR shooting are good options for anyone under 14.
- Combine it with Anseong Farmland, about an hour away, for a full Gyeonggi-do day out like we did.
