- Take the ITX-Cheongchun from Yongsan (also stopping at Cheongnyangni) to Gapyeong (가평), about an hour. Reserve seats on the Korail website or app, especially at weekends.
- From Gapyeong Station, take a taxi to the Nami Island wharf (about 5 minutes, ~5,000 KRW), walk about 20 minutes, or use the Gapyeong City Tour Bus.
- Buy the Nami Island ticket at the wharf and board the ferry.
On a budget? The regular Gyeongchun Line subway also stops at Gapyeong; it’s slower, with no reserved seats, but you just tap your T-money card.
How much is Nami Island?
- Adults: about 19,000 KRW, including the return ferry. Students, seniors and young children pay less.
- Zipwire: instead of the ferry, you can fly across the river on a zipline from a tower near the wharf (extra cost, weight limits apply).
- Food, bike rental and activities on the island are paid separately.
What is there to do on Nami Island?

- Walk the Metasequoia Lane and the ginkgo avenue, the island’s most photographed spots.
- Rent a bike or a tandem to circle the island.
- Look for the free-roaming ostriches, peacocks and squirrels.
- Find the Winter Sonata statues and filming spots.
- Eat dakgalbi (Chuncheon-style spicy chicken), the regional speciality, near the wharf.
Should you take a day tour?
- Tours usually combine Nami Island with Petite France, the Garden of Morning Calm or a rail bike, which are hard to link by public transport.
- Worth it if you want to see two or three places in one day without planning connections.
