Booking one of the hotels near Seoul Station (서울역) is the simplest way to start or end a Korea trip. The AREX Express from Incheon Airport ends here, KTX trains leave for Busan, and subway Lines 1 and 4 run underneath, so you spend less time dragging a suitcase and more time in the city. Below are eight places to stay around the station, from a ₩40,000 room to a hotel connected by an underground walkway, with walking routes, honest downsides and check-in tips.

Short answer: the best hotels near Seoul Station

  • Closest upscale hotel: Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station, a few minutes from Exit 12.
  • Apartment-style with space for a family: Fraser Place Namdaemun or ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun.
  • Mid-range, walkable to Namsan and Myeongdong: Hotel Manu Seoul Station.
  • Stylish rooms, one subway stop south: Hotel the Designers Seoul Station.
  • Budget, right by Exit 10: ZIYOLK Seoul Station or Hotelette Seoul Station.

Why stay near Seoul Station?

Seoul Station is the city’s main rail hub. For visitors, three things make it a strong base:

  • Airport: the AREX Express runs non-stop from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station in about 43 minutes from Terminal 1, and the all-stop AREX train ends here too. Our Incheon Airport to Seoul guide compares it with buses and taxis.
  • KTX: Busan, Gyeongju, Gangneung and other KTX routes leave from here, so an early train is a five-minute walk instead of a cross-city ride. See the Seoul to Busan KTX guide.
  • Subway: Line 4 reaches Myeongdong in two stops, and Line 1 goes to City Hall and Jongno for the palaces.

There’s one more perk on departure day: the City Airport Terminal on B2 of the station offers in-town check-in and immigration for some airlines, mostly Korean carriers, so you can drop your bags in the morning and ride to the airport empty-handed. Sources listed check-in roughly between 5:20 AM and 7:00 PM, closing about 3 hours before departure for Terminal 1 flights. Airlines and conditions change, so confirm on the AREX website before you rely on it.

The trade-off: the area is functional rather than pretty, and some streets are steep. For nightlife on your doorstep, compare the areas in Where to stay in Seoul.

How we picked these hotels

We haven’t stayed in all of these hotels, so this isn’t a ranking of our own nights there. We picked them on what we could check: the walking route from a station exit on the map, at least two sources (official sites and booking listings) showing each one operating in 2026, recent review trends, and October 2026 prices. Ratings are quoted with the site and review count.

Upscale hotels near Seoul Station

Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station (포포인츠 바이 쉐라톤 조선 서울역)

  • Address: 366 Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu
  • Walk: about 3 minutes from Seoul Station Exit 12 (per the hotel’s Korean listing); guests describe an underground route most of the way
  • Price seen: from about $167 (~₩230,000) a night on Trip.com, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 9.0 from 1,099 reviews on Trip.com (October 2026)

This is the closest international-brand hotel to the station, run by Josun Hotels & Resorts under Marriott’s Four Points brand. It sits in the office towers on the south side of the station, so on a rainy day or with big bags you can stay mostly underground between the platform and the lobby.

Good for: travelers with an early KTX or AREX departure, business trips, and anyone who wants a dependable chain hotel.
Watch out for: the immediate area is offices and roads, so evenings are quiet and you’ll take the subway or a taxi for dinner and nightlife.
Check-in tip: if you arrive on the AREX, follow the signs toward Exit 12 inside the station rather than going up to street level first.

Fraser Place Namdaemun Seoul (프레이저 플레이스 남대문)

  • Address: 58 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu
  • Walk: about 8 minutes to Seoul Station; Namdaemun Market is a few minutes away
  • Price seen: about $183 (~₩253,000) a night on HotelsCombined, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 8.9 from 4,888 reviews on HotelsCombined (October 2026)

Fraser Place is a serviced-apartment hotel near Sungnyemun (Namdaemun Gate), between the station and the market. Rooms are set up for longer stays, which makes it a good fit for families and anyone staying a week or more.

Good for: families, longer stays, and travelers who want more space than a standard hotel room.
Watch out for: it’s on a busy main road and the walk to the station crosses large intersections.
Check-in tip: ask at booking which apartment types have a washing machine or kitchenette if you need one; it varies by room type.

Mid-range hotels near Seoul Station

ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun

  • Address: 36 Sejong-daero 11-gil, Jung-gu
  • Walk: about 8 minutes to Seoul Station; City Hall Station is a similar distance
  • Price: mid to upscale; we couldn’t confirm a typical October 2026 rate, so check your dates

ENA Suite is all about room size. Listings show one-bedroom suites of about 56 m² with a dining table and fridge, and two-bedroom suites of about 82 m² with a washing machine. Recent reviews mention clean, roomy suites. It’s a practical choice when three or four people want to share without squeezing into one hotel room.

Good for: families and small groups, and travelers who want to spread out after a long flight.
Watch out for: the side-street location takes a minute to find the first time, and breakfast is ordered from a menu rather than a large buffet.
Check-in tip: save the Korean address below on your phone; it’s easier for taxi drivers than the hotel name.

Hotel Manu Seoul Station

  • Address: 19 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu
  • Walk: short walk from Seoul Station; reviewers recommend Exits 4 and 5, which have elevators, or the Seoullo 7017 walkway
  • Rating seen: 8.8 from about 1,000 reviews on Expedia (2026)
  • Price: mid-range; rates move a lot by date

Hotel Manu sits on the east side of the station, toward Hoehyeon and Namsan. From here you can walk the Seoullo 7017 sky garden, reach Namdaemun Market on foot, and get to Myeongdong in one subway stop from Hoehyeon or a 15 to 20 minute walk. Guests mostly praise the location and staff, and the daily-changing breakfast.

Good for: first-time visitors who want to walk to Namsan and Myeongdong but still be near the trains.
Watch out for: breakfast isn’t included in the basic rate (listed at ₩17,500 per adult), there’s no parking, and some reviewers mention fewer staff late at night.
Check-in tip: check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out at noon, so plan a locker or the hotel’s bag hold if you land early.

Hotel the Designers Seoul Station

  • Address: 305 Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu
  • Walk: next to Sookmyung Women’s University Station Exit 10 (Line 4, one stop from Seoul Station); about 750 m from Seoul Station
  • Price seen: from about $161 (~₩222,000) a night on Trip.com, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 9.0 from 880 reviews on Trip.com (October 2026)

The Designers is a boutique chain where each room has its own interior theme. This branch is technically one subway stop south, which keeps the street calmer, and Line 4 still takes you to Seoul Station in one stop or Myeongdong in three.

Good for: couples and travelers who want a more stylish room than the business hotels, with good access to Line 4.
Watch out for: it’s not a quick walk with luggage to the KTX platforms, so plan one subway stop or a short taxi on departure day.
Check-in tip: room designs differ a lot, so look at the photos of the exact room type before you book.

Budget hotels near Seoul Station (about ₩40,000–90,000)

The cheapest rooms cluster in the hilly streets of Huam-dong (후암동) behind Exit 10 and along Hangang-daero south of the station. Expect small rooms, and check the photos for an elevator if you have a big suitcase.

ZIYOLK Seoul Station

  • Address: 17 Huam-ro 60-gil, Jung-gu (listed before as K-Pop Hotel Seoul Station)
  • Walk: about 2–5 minutes from Seoul Station Exit 10, depending on the listing
  • Price seen: from about $63 (~₩87,000) a night on Trip.com, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 8.1 from 257 reviews on Trip.com; 7.6 from about 750 reviews on Expedia

A small, simple hotel whose main selling point is the location. Reviewers like the staff and how close it is to the trains.

Good for: solo travelers and couples on a budget, and one-night stops before a KTX.
Watch out for: rooms are tiny, with little space to open two suitcases, and there’s no proper desk.
Check-in tip: the hotel used to be called K-Pop Hotel Seoul Station, so some maps and taxi apps may still show the old name.

  • Walk: across from Seoul Station Exit 10, about 1–2 minutes, slightly uphill
  • Price seen: from about $29 (~₩40,000) a night on Trip.com, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 7.8 on Trip.com (October 2026)

The lowest price we found within a couple of minutes’ walk of the station. Listings describe 27 small rooms, an elevator and luggage storage.

Good for: backpackers and anyone who just needs a bed near the station.
Watch out for: very small rooms, a front desk with limited hours, and mixed comments on cleanliness.
Check-in tip: tell the hotel your arrival time in advance if you land late, as the desk isn’t staffed around the clock.

  • Walk: about 4 minutes to Seoul Station
  • Price seen: from about $48 (~₩66,000) a night on Trip.com, October 2026
  • Rating seen: 7.1 from 397 reviews on Trip.com (October 2026)

A guesthouse-style hotel on the main road south of the station. Guests rate the location and the helpful staff.

Good for: light packers on a tight budget who want to walk to the station.
Watch out for: there’s no elevator, so you carry your bags up to the 3rd or 4th floor, and reviews mention street noise and bathroom cleanliness.
Check-in tip: skip this one if you have a large suitcase; ZIYOLK or Hotelette are better choices.

Luggage, KTX and AREX tips for a Seoul Station stay

  • Bags before check-in: most hotels will hold your luggage for free. If yours won’t, the station has T-Locker banks on Lines 1 and 4 and a staffed T-Luggage counter on B1 between Exits 1 and 2 (9:00 AM–10:00 PM). Locker locations by exit are in our Seoul Station luggage storage guide.
  • Know your exit: Seoul Station has many exits on both sides of the tracks. Exit 10 leads to Huam-dong’s small hotels, Exit 12 to the towers on Hangang-daero, and Exits 4 and 5 toward Namdaemun and Hoehyeon. Check the exit on Naver Map before you start walking.
  • Last trains: airport trains stop around midnight. If you land late, a hotel within walking distance of the AREX exit saves a taxi ride.
  • Pay for the subway: load a T-money card at the station; it works on AREX all-stop trains, the subway and buses.

Skip the suitcase haul (Klook)

  • T-PASS luggage delivery: have your bags carried between the airport and your hotel, so you can sightsee on arrival or departure day without them. Check the cut-off times and the hotel list before you book.

If shopping and street food matter more than trains, Myeongdong is only two stops away; see our picks of the best hotels in Myeongdong and the Myeongdong guide. For something more traditional, try a night in a hanok stay in Seoul.

Accessibility: suitcases, strollers and wheelchairs

  • Flattest walks: the main road south of the station (Hangang-daero) and the route north toward Namdaemun are mostly flat with wide sidewalks.
  • Hills: Huam-dong, behind Exit 10, is steep in places. Budget hotels there are close in distance but can mean an uphill drag with luggage.
  • Elevators: not every exit has one. Reviewers point to Exits 4 and 5 for elevators toward Hotel Manu; check the exit details on Naver Map for other routes.
