Namdaemun Market (남대문시장) is Korea’s largest traditional market: more than 10,000 shops packed into the blocks beside Sungnyemun, the old south gate of Seoul. It’s where Seoulites buy kitchenware, children’s clothes, glasses and ginseng, and it has two famous food alleys. It’s also a 10-minute walk from Myeongdong, so it fits easily into a shopping day.

Last checked: October 2026. Prices are 2026 ranges. Dollar figures use about 1,330 KRW = 1 USD (October 2026).
