Seongsu Pop-Up Stores: This Month’s List, How They Work and Where to Shop

October 18, 2026 | by Korea Bestie

Seongsu-dong (성수동) is where Korean brands go to show off. Fashion labels, beauty companies, snack makers, K-pop agencies and cartoon characters open Seongsu pop-up stores in old warehouses and side-street buildings, often for just one to three weeks, and many of them are free to walk into. This guide shows how the pop-ups work, how to find the ones open during your trip, which pop-ups are running in November 2026, and which permanent Seongsu shops are worth a visit any week of the year.

Last checked: October 27, 2026. Opening hours and dates change often, so confirm on Naver Map or the brand’s Instagram before you go.

Quick answer

  • Entry: most Seongsu pop-ups are free; character exhibitions charge admission and some K-pop pop-ups need booking.
  • Hours: usually opening 11 am–noon and closing around 8–9 pm. Weekday mornings have the shortest lines.
  • Find this week’s pop-ups: search #성수팝업 on Instagram or 성수 팝업 on Naver Map, then confirm on the brand’s Instagram.
  • Waiting lists: many text you, so a Korean number helps. Without one, ask staff for another way.

First time in Korea? Start here: our step-by-step guide from landing to your first day.

New to the area? Our Seongsu-dong guide covers the basics (getting there, the café street, Seoul Forest). This page goes deeper on pop-ups and shopping. For food and coffee in between, see Seongsu cafés and Seongsu restaurants.

Seongsu pop-up stores at a glance

  • Where: mostly around Yeonmujang-gil (연무장길) and its numbered side lanes, a few minutes’ walk from Seongsu Station (성수역), Line 2, Exits 3 and 4. A second cluster sits near Seoul Forest (서울숲).
  • Cost: most pop-ups are free to enter. Character exhibitions and some K-pop pop-ups are ticketed or need pre-registration.
  • How long they run: usually one to four weeks. Big character exhibitions can run for months.
  • Hours: most open around 11 am or noon and close around 8–9 pm.
  • Best time: weekdays, right at opening. Weekend afternoons mean queues, especially for K-pop and character pop-ups.
  • Bring: your passport (tax refunds and some passport-only discounts), a card or phone payment, and a charged phone for QR codes.

How Seongsu pop-ups work

A Seongsu pop-up is part shop, part photo set, part marketing event. Brands rent a building for a few weeks, decorate every corner and use it to launch a product or build buzz. Expect photo zones, free samples or small gifts, limited-edition merchandise you can’t buy anywhere else, and games or mini missions (follow the brand’s account, post a photo, get a gift).

  • Announcements come late. Most pop-ups are announced only two or three weeks ahead, usually on the brand’s Instagram and on Korean pop-up tracking sites.
  • Entry systems vary. Many pop-ups let you walk straight in. Busy ones use an on-site waiting list: you scan a QR code or type your phone number into a tablet, then get a text when it’s your turn. A Korean phone number makes this much easier, so an eSIM or local SIM with a number helps. Popular K-pop and character pop-ups may need advance booking through Naver Booking or the brand’s own site.
  • Merch sells out. Limited goods from K-pop and character pop-ups often run out on the first weekend. Some pop-ups set purchase limits per person.
  • Freebies usually need a Korean app or account. Many gifts are tied to following an Instagram account (easy) or signing up for a Korean membership app (harder without a Korean phone number). Ask staff: they can sometimes give the gift another way.
  • Bags and space are tight. Spaces are small and crowded, so leave big bags at a locker. Seongsu Station has T-Lockers; see our Seoul luggage storage guide.

How to find this week’s pop-ups

There’s no single official list, and the best trackers are in Korean. Here’s what works for visitors:

  1. Instagram: search the hashtag #성수팝업 (Seongsu pop-up) and sort by recent posts. You’ll see what opened this week and how long the queue looked.
  2. Popga (팝가): a Korean pop-up directory (popga.co.kr) that publishes a monthly “Seongsu pop-up” roundup with addresses and dates. The site is Korean only, but your browser’s translate button handles it well. Its app sends alerts for pop-ups you save.
  3. Wepick (위픽) “This week in Seongsu”: a free Korean newsletter (letter.wepick.kr) that lists the week’s Seongsu pop-ups every week.
  4. Naver Map: search 성수 팝업 to see pop-ups on the map with hours. Our Naver Map English guide explains how to switch the app to English.
  5. Brand accounts: once you have a name, check the brand’s own Instagram for the final dates, opening hours and whether you need to book.

Tip: if a post only has Korean text, use Google Lens or Papago on a screenshot. Look for 기간 (dates), 운영시간 (opening hours), 사전예약 (advance booking) and 현장대기 (on-site waiting list).

Which Seongsu pop-ups are open in November 2026?

Pop-ups change every week or two. The list below was checked on October 27, 2026, for pop-ups that stay open into November. New ones open every week, so treat it as a starting point. We refresh it every month, but always check the brand’s Instagram on the day you go: dates get extended, cut short or moved.

These dates come from the Korean pop-up trackers Popga and Wepick and from news reports (October 2026). Seongsu also gets several new pop-ups every week, often K-pop group characters and snack or beauty launches. Run the Instagram and Naver Map searches above a few days before your visit and again the morning you go.

Permanent Seongsu shops worth a visit any week

Pop-ups come and go, but Seongsu also has some of Seoul’s best permanent stores for Korean fashion and design. Most are on or near Yeonmujang-gil and Seongsui-ro (성수이로), the road running south from Seongsu Station.

Musinsa Megastore Seongsu (무신사 메가스토어 성수)

Korea’s biggest online fashion platform opened this five-floor store on April 24, 2026. It covers roughly 6,600 m² (about 2,000 pyeong), from the basement to the 4th floor, with around 1,000 Korean and global brands. The 2nd floor is the first offline Musinsa Beauty store, and the 4th floor is a food court called Food Garden. It became a tourist favorite fast: foreign shoppers made up more than 40% of sales in its first 50 days, according to a June 2026 report. Foreign customers can pay and get the tax refund in one step at the counter, and QR codes on products show translated reviews and product details. If you only have time for one store in Seongsu, make it this one.

Musinsa Standard Seongsu (무신사 스탠다드 성수)

Musinsa’s own label for affordable basics (think Uniqlo, but Korean): denim, knitwear, outerwear and everyday wear. The two-floor store opened in October 2023 at 83 Yeonmujang-gil, about 470 m from Seongsu Station Exit 3, and a second Seongsu branch on Seongsui-ro opened in April 2026. It’s a good stop for a jacket if Seoul turns colder than you packed for. Google Maps · Naver Map

Musinsa Empty Seongsu (무신사 엠프티 성수)

Musinsa’s gallery-style designer select shop, open since September 2022 at 97 Seongsui-ro. It stocks more experimental Korean and international labels than the megastore. Worth a look if you like fashion as design, even if you don’t buy. Google Maps · Naver Map

ADER Seongsu Space (아더 성수 스페이스)

The flagship of ADERERROR, one of the Korean streetwear brands best known abroad, at 82 Seongsui-ro. The store is more installation than shop, with a futuristic theme after a 2025 renewal. It was listed as open daily from 11 am to 9 pm as of April 2026. Weekends often have a wait, so come on a weekday. Google Maps · Naver Map

BEAKER Seongsu (비이커 성수)

Samsung C&T’s multi-brand fashion store at 7-1 Yeonmujang-gil, open since November 2022. It has three floors (about 324 m²): trend-led Korean labels and pop-up corners on the lower floors, and international brands upstairs. Google Maps · Naver Map

Point of View (포인트오브뷰)

A three-floor “stationery shop for grown-ups” at 18 Yeonmujang-gil: notebooks, pens, desk objects, fabric goods and scents, displayed like a small museum. It opens around noon and has closed on the last Monday of each month. Small, light and very giftable, which makes it a good stop for souvenirs that fit in a suitcase. It can get a queue on weekends. Google Maps · Naver Map

Matin Kim Seongsu (마뗑킴 성수)

The Korean fashion label behind the logo bags and tees you’ll see all over Seoul. The Seongsu flagship (its third, after Dosan and Myeongdong) officially opened in January 2026, about a 6-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 4. Hologram videos of the brand’s ambassador, Ningning of aespa, greet you at the entrance. Google Maps · Naver Map

K-beauty in Seongsu

  • Olive Young N Seongsu (올리브영N 성수): Olive Young’s experience-style flagship at 13 Yeonmujang 7-gil, near Seongsu Station Exit 4, opened in November 2024. It’s a large, five-floor store with testing zones throughout and tax refunds at the counter. Our Olive Young Seoul guide compares the main stores, and what to buy at Olive Young has a ready-made shopping list. Google Maps · Naver Map
  • Amore Seongsu (아모레성수): Amorepacific’s showroom at 7 Achasan-ro 11-gil, about 5 minutes from Seongsu Station Exits 2 and 3. You can test the group’s brands (Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Innisfree, Hera and more) and try beauty experiences such as foundation matching, some of which need booking. A delivery desk for foreign shoppers was due to start as a pilot in July 2026, so ask whether it’s running if you don’t want to carry bags. Published hours differ between sources, so check Naver Map. Tax refunds, payment and carrying it all

  • Tax refund: look for a “Tax Free” sign. Bigger stores (Musinsa Megastore, Olive Young N) give the refund right at the counter when you show your physical passport. Minimum spends and how it works are in our Korea tax refund guide.
  • Payment: cards and phone payments work almost everywhere. Some pop-ups are cashless, so don’t rely on cash. Our money in Korea guide covers WOWPASS and foreign cards.
  • Bags: shop last, or drop purchases in a locker between stops (see Seoul luggage storage). Heading back to your hotel on Line 2? Our where to stay in Seoul guide includes areas on the same line.

A half-day pop-up and shopping route

  1. 11:30 am — Seongsu Station Exit 4. Start at Olive Young N Seongsu or Matin Kim while it’s quiet.
  2. 12:30 pm — the Yeonmujang 3-gil and 5-gil lanes. Do the pop-ups on your list (in November: Crayon Shin-chan, Lenssis and lunch at Shin Ramyun Bunsik).
  3. 1:30 pm — lunch. Pick a spot from our Seongsu restaurant guide, or the Musinsa Megastore Food Garden.
  4. 2:30 pm — Seongsui-ro. Musinsa Megastore, then Musinsa Empty and ADER Seongsu Space, all on the same road.
  5. 4:00 pm — Yeonmujang-gil. Point of View, Musinsa Standard and BEAKER, then a coffee from our Seongsu café list.
  6. 5:00 pm — Seoul Forest. Walk west to the park for the last light. More ideas in things to do in Seongsu.

Getting there: Line 2 runs straight to Seongsu Station from Hongdae, City Hall and Gangnam (see our Seoul subway guide; tap in with a T-money card). Planning several days? Seongsu fits nicely into day 2 or 3 of our Seoul itinerary.

Accessibility: strollers and wheelchairs

  • The streets are flat, but sidewalks on Yeonmujang-gil are narrow and very busy on weekends, with cars and scooters sharing the side lanes.
  • Many pop-ups are in converted houses and small buildings with steps at the entrance and no lift. Big stores like Musinsa Megastore and Olive Young N are the easiest to get around.
  • Seongsu Station is elevated. Check which exit has an elevator on Naver Map before you go.
  • Pop-up queues often wind along the sidewalk with no shade or seating, so weekday visits are much easier with kids or limited mobility.

FAQ

Are Seongsu pop-up stores free?
Most are free to enter. Character exhibitions (like this autumn’s Crayon Shin-chan show) charge admission, and some K-pop pop-ups need advance booking.

How do I know which pop-ups are open this week?
Search #성수팝업 on Instagram, check Popga or the Wepick newsletter, and search 성수 팝업 on Naver Map. Then confirm dates on the brand’s own Instagram.

What time do Seongsu pop-ups open?
Usually between 11 am and noon, closing around 8–9 pm. Weekday mornings right at opening have the shortest lines.

Can foreigners join the waiting lists?
Yes, but many on-site waiting lists text you when it’s your turn, so a Korean phone number helps. Without one, ask staff: they can usually add you some other way.

What’s the best shop in Seongsu for Korean fashion?
Musinsa Megastore for range (around 1,000 brands with tax refund at the counter), ADER Seongsu Space for a flagship experience, and BEAKER or Musinsa Empty for curated designer labels.

Is Seongsu better on a weekday or a weekend?
Weekdays. Weekends bring long queues at pop-ups and crowded sidewalks, especially in the afternoon.
